Geelong's Favourite Bridal Studio
We take pride in offering a unique shopping experience for the contemporary bride and those closest to her. We focus on the experience of finding your wedding dress in a relaxed, comfortable and personal atmosphere, surrounded by gowns outside of the norm and mainstream. Our gowns are equal parts beautiful and unique, hand-selected by the girls who look after our brides.
Our philosophy is also providing AMAZING bridal wear no matter your size or your shape. Our average ordered size in the boutique is a 16-18! And the average Australian woman are sizes 14-20.
We leave the stuffy traditional bridal shopping experience "thing" at the door and welcome you into a relaxed, luxury space to say yes to the dress with your closest loved ones.
And The Veil Bridal is more than just a bridal boutique; we are a community!
The adventure begins...
The boutique is situated on one of the corner's of James St, Geelong - surrounded by local art galleries, coffee hot spots and cake shops to absolutely die for. The store is a ground floor masterpiece, completely fit out by our trusted builders and carpentry team that did our first boutique (Westside Renovations and Installations). A handmade reception counter and racks lining the walls was our dream!
Want to treat yourself before or after your appointment. Some local favourites of ours are...
* Coffee? Hucksters, literally across the road from the boutique - only open for our weekday brides, otherwise trot next door to James St Cafe.
* Cake? Visit the queen of cakes, CakeSmith. A short walk from the boutique and just across Ryrie Street, this hidden gem is the best.
* Lunch? Georgia's favourite is the local Poke Bowl location just at the top of James St, they are a dream and the girls are fabulously accomodating. Feel like a big 'ol feed - see Wah Wah Gee on the pier, they have the best bao buns in the world.
*Fresh blooms? See our lovely friends at As Daisy Does, a short drive but absolutely the best!
* Shopping? Westfield Geelong is a short block away for your shopping fix.
The idea of And The Veil was brought to life in early 2012 and we opened our first boutique in February 2013. Mother-Daughter co-owners duo Bronwyn and Rebbeca created their boutique based on the experiences of Rebbeca when she went shopping for her wedding gown in 2009, Bec found nothing but size 6-8 samples and pushy sales people with no knowledge and no passion - this is the complete opposite of And The Veil. Both local ladies, the idea of sharing our passion and love with the Geelong and Bellarine community was a total dream.
Rebbeca lives in outer Portarlington with her husband and young daughter. She has a passion for sharing her knowledge, having a good chat throughout your booking and knows exact how to fit a bride of all sizes and shapes. Her previous role in accounts payable for a multi-million dollar company, she is the brains behind the cash side of And The Veil and watches your gown like a hawk during manufacturing and shipping. Rebbeca loves our new Kellylin Bridal gowns, and in particular the Contour D-Amour range, which is gowns specially crafted for babes sizes 18-40. Bec's favourite bridal accessory would be a lace veil to match the brides' gown or for a less traditional wedding a gorgeous bespoke hair piece, particularly from our girlfriend at BLT Jewellery.
Bronwyn, Mother of 3, grand-mother of 4, been around for many moons and married for 42+ years. She lives in St. Leonards, has always looked after the community, with her previous role as an aged care nurse, she will go above and beyond to provide you with the most beautiful expel rience possible. She is all about making you feel comfortable and super special. Bronwyn loves our both Pronovias and Zavana gowns, she feels they are affordable luxury with fabulous crepes and unique laces. Bronwyn's favourite bridal accessory is a classic long veil - she feels they are timeless and totally make the bridal gown, a BRIDAL gown.
Our social media guru, brand manager and part time bridal stylist, Georgia, knows all things everything and has even designed some gowns for the And The Veil collection! Any newsletters, instagram posts, DMs, promotions, events or pics you see Georgia has been in charge (including writing this, yes I'm tooting my own horn) She is currently studying a double degree in Paramedicine and Nursing. She is all about providing you an experience that is real and relaxed, she loves a chat about Sarah's Day and all things reformer pilates. Georgia's favourite collection in the boutique would be the White April gowns, she feels they are incredible on our brides of all sizes and loves how confident our brides feel in these fabulous gowns. Georgia loves a flower crown as an alternative to a veil or a pair of beautiful tulle wings.
We also have our junior stylists and our seamstress, we are excited to get their bio up in the coming weeks...
