For some of us, organisation is the key to dulling those pesky nerves, and your wedding can be one of the most nerve racking moments of your life. If, like me, the best way to calm your nerves is to make sure everything is in order and you are the most prepared for your big day that you can be, here is a list of things you can do the day before your wedding to make sure you look and feel your best .
Keep your sparkle!
It would be a shame to have dull wedding rings on your big day, so if you’ve forgotten to take them for a clean, here are a few tricks from Xennox Diamonds to keep your rings sparkly!
Eat Well
Eating well the day before your wedding can have a positive impact on your mood and total well-being on your big day! To calm your nerves, it’s best to eat foods that are high in protein, tryptophan and Vitamin B. These foods will help the production of serotonin, norepinephrine, omega-3 and dopamine; all the chemicals in your body that make you feel happy and alert. It’s also best to avoid excess alcohol and caffeine as they are both diuretics, and it’s essential to stay hydrated for your best mental and skin health. Finally, avoid processed meats and fried food. If your body is struggling to digest the food you’re eating, it’s not going to have much energy left to make you look and feel amazing!
Organise a day kit for the car.
There are loads of little tricks to make sure that you’re prepared for the long day ahead of you, and the first is to keep hydrated. Your body will love you for it. Staying hydrated will keep you looking fresh, and help you fight exhaustion and a bad mood, so make sure you have a water bottle or two in your bridal car (especially if you’re going to treat yourself to some sneaky champagne!). Trick number two is pack some snacks. If you’re going to be out for a while taking photos (and let’s face it, you will be) maybe organise some snacks for you and your party. No one wants to be hangry on their wedding day. Trick number three: think about your surroundings. If you’re going to take photos on the beach, maybe take a pair of thongs to walk along the sand in and a towel to clean your feet off with after. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. Finally, trick number four, keep some baby wipes on you. They’re great for spot removing stains, or freshening up, or fixing your makeup, or even just cleaning your hands. Baby wipes solve all problems!
Calm your nerves.
If you’re a nervous bride you’re not alone. Maybe you’re worried something will go wrong, or you’ll trip up the isle or you’ll stutter your vows. We’ve all had those worries, so the best thing to do is have a relaxing evening. Eat well, maybe have a bath, try some breathing exercises and think positive calming thoughts. If you ask most brides, something usually goes a bit awry, but don’t stress about it! The best thing to do is just think, ‘whatever happens happens’ and just enjoy your amazing day!
